Zeno Guardini

Post-doctoral Researcher

His research has focused on the molecular physiology of plant responses to environmental stresses for the past few years. Specifically, he has been investigating how higher plants, such as the model species Arabidopsis thaliana and Nicotiana benthamiana, respond to adverse light conditions, including excessive or fluctuating light. During his Ph.D. at the “Photosynthesis and Bioenergy Laboratory”, he worked on the production and physiological characterization of plants with site-specific mutations in the light-harvesting complexes (LHC) of photosystem I and II. His scientific expertise encompasses molecular biology and genetic transformation of plant species, the application of biochemistry to study the molecular and supramolecular organization of photosynthetic complexes, and the use of basic spectroscopic techniques for the physiological characterization of plants.
