PhD Student

Antonello Amelii holds a bachelor degree in Agricultural Science and Technology pursued at the Polytechnic University of Marche in 2020. He then undertook a master’s degree in Agri-Food Biotechnology at the University of Verona, where he graduated in 2022 with a thesis in “Biophysical and biochemical characterization of APX2 in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii”. For this project, he collaborated with the laboratory of Genetics and Physiology of Microalgae, University of Liège (Belgium) and at the UMR (Tree-microorganisms interaction) laboratory, University of Lorraine, and concluded his research activities at the at the Photosynthesis laboratory, University of Verona (Italy). In the same laboratory, he is now a PhD student (2023 – ongoing) , with a research project focusing on the investigation of the physiological role of the photosynthetic proteins expressed in extreme environmental conditions. Since 2024 he is collaborating with the Zoological Station “Anton Dohrn”, Naples (SZN) for an EMBRC-IT Project, focusing on the Structural Insights on Photosynthetic Complexes in Seagrass.
