Roberto Bassi, Luca Dall’Osto, Edoardo Cutolo, Zeno Guardini, Roberto Caferri, Paolo Canteri and Federico Alvaro attended the XIV Congress of the Italian Society of Plant Biology, held at the University of Palermo from September 16 to 19, 2025.

The conference covered a wide range of topics in plant physiology, including plant hormones and signaling pathways, cutting-edge approaches in plant biology, evolutionary and functional biochemistry in plants, plant-environment interactions, biotic interactions, and emerging frontiers in green biotechnologies.

Roberto Bassi was an invited speaker in the session titled “Evolutionary and Functional Biochemistry in Plants”, where he presented an inspiring overview of the laboratory’s research titled: “From Desert to Seabed: Nature-Based Engineering of Photosynthetic Light Harvesting Systems.”

All other members of the lab participated in the poster session, presenting work focused on specific research topics.
